An incomplete, worn and heavily corroded cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester Derivative rearhook type, dating c. 43-100 AD. The foot, catchplate and pin are missing-the rest of the brooch surviving intact. It has a semi-circular sectioned winged head (the wings undecorated), at the middle of which on its reverse face are the remains of a rearward-facing hook. The bow is ‘D’ shaped in section and heavily concreted, curving in profile before truncating in old damage. Preserved in rather poor condition with an uneven brownish patina, it survives to a length of 20.35mm, 19.41mm wide at its head, 4.48mm thick at the midpoint of the bow and weighs 3.96g.
