Medieval (c.1350-1400) buckle: The copper alloy frame is a single loop sub-oval with a slightly off-set strap bar, and an expanded bar opposite the strap bar. This bar has a notch and three bulbous transverse ridges with either side. The sides of the frame are convex on the exterior and concave on the interior.

The surface of the buckle frame has an abraded dark brown surface.

It measures 15.18mm in length, 19.07mm wide and weighs 1.26g.

Similar buckles are illustrated in Egan & Pritchard (1991) Nos. 434 to 439 and dated to the send half of the 14th century.
